Your video never leaves your Mac

CamLoop records short clips and plays them through a local virtual camera. Your recordings are stored only on your device, in the app's container. They are never uploaded to us or to anyone else.

Audio is never touched

CamLoop does not record, store, or route any audio. When you loop your camera, your audio keeps passing straight through to your meeting app.

Anonymous diagnostics (opt-out)

To fix crashes and understand which features are used, CamLoop can send anonymous diagnostics:

• Crash reports and basic usage events (e.g. “a clip was recorded”, “went live”).
• Never any video, audio, clip contents, thumbnails, or personal identifiers.

This is opt-out. Turn it off any time in Settings → Privacy. Licence and trial checks are separate and are covered below.

Website analytics

On this website we use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics. It sets no cookies, does not track you across other sites, and never collects your name, email, or any personal identifier.

We record page views, clicks on the Download button, and session replays. A replay is an anonymous reconstruction of how a page was used, so we can see where the site confuses people. Replays never include anything you type: every input is masked inside your browser, so the text never reaches us. The parts of the activation page that show your licence key are excluded from recording, so your key is never captured. Replays are deleted after 30 days.

Licensing and your device

To run your free trial and to confirm a Pro licence, CamLoop checks in with camloop.app. Unlike diagnostics above, this check is not optional: it is how the trial and the licence work.

• Your Mac sends a one-way hash of its hardware identifier, never the identifier itself, and never your name, email, or any account.
• If you have a licence, your licence key is sent so it can be validated. It is never logged.
• We store only the date your trial first started, against a further salted hash of that device hash. That is what stops a trial restarting forever, and it is the whole record.
• The reply is a short-lived confirmation that your Mac is licensed or in its trial. CamLoop keeps working offline until it expires.

We do not use this to track you, we do not link it to your identity, and we do not share it.

Payments

Purchases are handled by our payment provider; we never see or store your card details. If you use CamLoop through Setapp, billing is handled entirely by Setapp.
